Robert Pattinson At The Water For Elephants Berlin Premiere

So I fiiiiiiinally got to see "Whiskey for Elephants"!

So, I read the book a few months ago, in advance of a screening that was meant to happen outside of Seattle.
Although I really liked the picture the story painted and my heart strings were tugged by the compassionate nature of the lead, I had issues with the plot - namely, why in the hale do Jacob and Marlena actually fall for each other?
It's just sort of assumed of the principle characters take that leap from "hi, nice to meet you" to "let's start a new life together".
I mean, is "you're a beautiful women, you deserve a beautiful life" enough? Really?!
I digress...
Things I loooved about the movie:
Rob. Ok, ok, I know it's somewhat of a given but that boy delivers - I don't care how much some may tease him about Twilight, he is present throughout every second of his character's lives. Plus, hearing him talk in another language did fluttery things to my insides - hummana!
The atmosphere. It looked AMAZE! The details, from the lighting and the sweat to the costumes and the set-dressing, felt so authentic. Gorgeous job.
Christoph Waltz. That dude was the exact embodiment of the character from the book - enough to equally creep and scare the begeezus out of me - wow!
The editing. I don't know how else to put it but - from when Jacob was going to be flung from the train, to when they were discovered at the hotel, and when Rosie swiped August about the head - man, there were some incredible moments!
Twilight quoteage. Viewing bud @Kitty_Elvis (who is also responsible for the rebranding) totally called it when Jacob asked "Do you mind if I look?" about Silver's hoof - biology scene flash back anyone?
Things I didn't love quite so much:
The love scene. Ugh, I wanted to like it - trust. It had such potential, what with Rob's musicians fingers dancing their way up her thigh, but I was so very disconnected from that scene *sigh* just me?
Claudia. You know, when they dressed Rob up in drag? Haha, ok maybe it was funny but the pasty crossed the line *cringe*
Sad pandas. ...and horses and elephants and dogs and cats - I know it's only showbiz but still makes me upset to see :(
Overall, I like the movie a lot - the production value is of a high quality and I'd recommend it as a good watch to Rob and non-Rob fans alike.
However, the story its-self always lacked that certain element of truth that convinced me of Jacob and Marlena's desperation to be together - for me, this similarly lacks in the film.

Quileute Tribe Wants To Expand Their Land

The Quileute tribe wants to move its village to higher ground because of concerns over a possible tsunami from earthquakes around the Pacific Ocean.
Here is some info --
"The number one priority is moving our children — the schoolchildren — up to higher ground," says tribal chairwoman Bonita Cleveland. "Our school is right on the ocean."
Also near the water — and thus, potentially at risk — is the tribal senior center, several churches and the tribal headquarters.
But there's a big problem with moving them. As Cleveland points out, the tribal village is already built right up to the edge of the tiny reservation. On the other side of the line is majestic Olympic National Park.
"Back in the day, our ancestors moved along this land freely," Cleveland says. "They moved up and down this coast. Today, we can't do that."
Only Congress can adjust the boundaries of a national park. And it's done that before — in December, lawmakers gave the nearby Hoh Indian Tribe a sliver of Olympic park land. That tribe is now planning its move out of the tsunami zone.
But the Quileutes are asking for much more land: about 785 acres of the national park, some of it designated wilderness. And to help its cause, the tribe is seeking to enlist an unusual ally: the huge fan base of the Twilight vampire saga.
"Helping the Quileute Tribe move their facilities 800 feet up and out of the tsunami zone is the primary purpose of this legislation," she said. "However, it will ensure visitors access to Second Beach, Rialto Beach, and preserve thousands of acres of Olympic National Park as wilderness."
There's no organized opposition to the move, so the tribe's main challenge now is to keep the attention of the busy Congress long enough to get its bill passed. Then the next hurdle will be to find the money to relocate to higher ground on the Olympic Peninsula

P-Fach spoke with EW about Nurse Jackie and decided to gave out a few Breaking Dawn deets, too. Each interview only make me more aggravated with Summit! I NEED some "official" twi-crack so I can stop posting manips! -Ashes ;)

Switching gears: Breaking Dawn. I know you’re on set, how does it feel winding it down?
It’s been a whirlwind. We’ve been filming for six months. You take it day by day. I feel good about what we’ve shot. Now it’s up to the editor, and I hope it all comes out well. At the end of the day, it’s hard because you don’t have control over how it’s put together. But I’ve seen some put together, and it looks pretty good. I’m excited to see the finished product.
Anything you can tease to us about it? I hear the wedding scene is grand.

I remember the first day [on the first film], we were in the midst of shooting, and they said [to the director Catherine Hardwicke], ‘”What do you want to do Catherine?” So they started passing out baseball hats to anyone whose hair looked too wet. It was movie magic; you never see it. It has to rain really hard for it to read on film.

Breaking Dawn: Not Quite Wrapped Yet! Who's Still Filming Up in Vancouver...
It appears that Rob and Kristen have both been wrapped on Breaking Dawn *tear*
Rob doesn't seem to have returned to Vancouver after his Water for Elephant promo in LA and NYC this past week, whereas Kristen has since been spotted heading home to LA after a couple of extra days filming...
However, many of the Breaking Dawn principle cast are still hard at work up in Canada:
Peter tweet about still being on location (so I'm guessing Elizabeth is also likely filming)Although something tells me Kellan may have stayed back in California after being spotted at Coachella this past weekendAnd Nikki appears to be back in LA having attended the new sidekick launch

Rumor Alert: Breaking Dawn Honeymoon ReShoots in the Virgin Isles?!
A few weeks ago there were rumours that some Isle Esme Honeymoon scenes would need reshooting down in Florida.
However, now it seems the Virgin Isles are where the supposed reshoots may be taking place... I'm thinking that the more difficult access, making leaks and disturbance less easy, is a big part of the attraction here.
I'm wondering whether Stephenie put the kibosh on anything too schmexy, if they want to get new footage since the scandelous leaks recently or perhaps the footage originally captured just wasn't enough.

P Fach Talks Breaking Dawn Wedding Scene
The sexy Peter Facinelli spoke with MTV recently and gave out a few deets on how horrible filming the wedding scene was!
This is what P.Fach had to say about it-
"Beautiful and spectacular," he said. "It's funny, because whenever we have a big important scene on 'Twilight' [movies], it rains. I was doing the baseball sequence [from 'Twilight'], and it was raining. But you never see it on film," he said of the filmmaking crew's movie magic. "With this wedding, it rained the whole time we shot the two scenes. But you'll never see it on film, they block out the rain. They put tarps up and you'll never see it. But for us, it was very wet and muddy and cold."
The poor Twilight cast has had to endure so much bad weather. Props to them for sucking it up and doing it because I couldn't!

Jackson And Ashley Enjoying Time Off.
I was totally tempted to put Alice and Jasper, FYI. Ashley and Jackson were out and about in Vancouver today. Apparently they had a little lunch together, too. It is obviously none of my business... But that has never stopped me from putting my opinion in before! I am getting a friends with benefits vibe from them. Which is good, I guess. The Twilight star revealed to Ellen DeGeneres that he had a wardrobe malfunction — in a pair of Ellen-branded undies! RPattz explained he was down to his last pair of underwear, and chose to wear a pair Ellen had recently given him on set.
He told the talk show host, “I only had one pair left and they were those ones (“Ellen” underwear). We were doing this big fight screen and for some reason I think the shape of my body, my back is too long or something. So my a** is constantly hanging out!”He added, “Every single shot we were doing this big fight and every shot has these Ellen underpants. It came to a point where producers are calling up my agent going, ‘I don’t know what he is up to but I don’t like it!’”
